Before/After

We love dog grooming and we love your dog.  But let me tell you what we hate: matts.  Matts are knots.  Knots are bad.  It is not easy just to do a  "shave."  Getting through bad matts requires quite an effort and takes its toll on your dog because there will be scraping and pulling and wears down our equipment.  As you can imagine a matted dog would dull our clipper blades and scissors.    Getting your dog dematted can easily injure your dog with clipper burn, or injure your dog by getting nicked.skip tooth clipper blade

This is what we call a skipped tooth blade.  This blade gets through the matts easier.  See those sharp teeth?  They get through the matts and can easily cut through the dogs skin, unfortunately.  We use these blades with extreme care, but when used on a matted and wiggely dog - ouch!



This is a regular blade - we call this a fine tooth blade.  This is a safer blade that we use on dogs when they are not matted.  Remember, your dog probably needs to come in every six weeks.  I always wanted to be a hand model, nice huh? 

 


Portuguese Water Dog

This is "Ace" a puppy Portuguese Water Dog.  Eat your heart out Obamas, this is a nice puppy!  This is his before shot.

C'mon mommy, bring me to A to Z every six weeks.  I really want to be able to see.

Phew mommy, this is so much better. Below is my sister.  We feel so much better and we really love it here at A to Z.
We are the prettiest sisters in Wayne now. 
 Hee hee, let's see if mommy can catch us before we leave, because we don't want to leave.


 


This is a little yorkie that came in.  I think that if you can't see the dog's eyes, the dog can't see you or anyone else for that matter. 



Here is the after photo.  She wasn't cooperative getting a photo taken but she can see now and I think she is gorgeous in her new summer hair-do.



Unfortunately, this little guy came in way over-due and we had to use a skip-toothed blade on him.  He is antsy and a very difficult dog to do, shaving him was difficult for the groomer and the dog.



Here is one happy de-matted dog doing a happy dog dance. The matts are gone and so is the uncomfortable tugging that the matts cause on the skin.  I think this dog loves A to Z Pet Grooming!
