GROOMING YOUR CAT
Take a look in our front window and you will see the most beautiful cat in the world, “Cali.” Cali is our calico shop cat. She works here too as a mouser and a greeter to our customers. Try not to pet her though, she is temperamental. She tries to ring customers up, but she's a little clumsy on the keyboard. Needless to say, we love and appreciate cats.
A cat groomer is difficult to find for obvious reasons. Many cats bite and scratch. Even though there is great risk to the groomer, cat grooming is a necessary service, especially for long haired cats which become easily matted. Our cat grooming services will include:
• full “lion cut” shave
• ear cleaning
• nail clipping
• bath & blow dry
We can bathe the cat with a shed free shampoo treatment which should reduce shedding. We also often use medicated shampoos on cats with dry and flaky skin. Some customers just want their cats bathed which we do as well.
We have special equipment to make your cats shave look as smooth as possible.
Sometimes we get cat owners who tell us the cat is very difficult to groom. In most cases, we require the owner to stay with the cat while it is being shaved. We have seen a huge improvement with the behavior of cats if the owner is present to hold the cat. A cat client of ours which was formerly sedated for grooming is now not a problem if the mommy stays. This means less stress for the cat and less stress for the groomer. Yes, win/win! Bathing and drying the cat isn’t usually a problem. We do cage dry cats with a COOL dryer on a towel in a cage.

Oh, and don't be telling me Cali is fat, she is just big and fluffy.
CAT GROOMING:
Shave is $75 plus more if your cat is severely matted or badly behaved. Sorry, this is expensive, but recently our groomer was put in the hospital with a bad bite. Not to mention another cat gave us ring-worm. No negotiation on this price, sorry.
Due to the dangerous nature of cat grooming, we have recently changed our policy that we will only grooms cats that are sedated. You will have to get the necessary sedation from your verterinarian.
Even if you cat has been with us before, we have found that the erratic nature of cats - declawed or not - puts our groomers at risk and the customer at risk.
